Big Sur & California Central Coast Custom Bicycle Tour

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Meet In Carmel Valley, Ride to Big Sur

We meet in the morning in Carmel Valley, at the Los Laureles Lodge, accessible by taxi cab from the Monterey Airport. We will go over the details of the day, then head out on bikes to the Monterey waterfront, along the 17-Mile Drive of Pebble Beach, through Carmel-by-the-Sea, then south along Highway One to the Big Sur Lodge, our lodging for the night. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Big Sur to Cambria

Meet for breakfast at the Big Sur Lodge to go over day’s plans. Ride south on Highway One through Big Sur to coastal town of Cambria. Lodging at the Burton Inn, dining at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Cambria to Avila Beach

Meet for breakfast at Burton Inn to go over days plans. Ride inland mountain roads from Cambria to Morro Bay, then to San Luis Obispo, then to Avila Beach. Lodging at the Avila La Fonda Hotel, one block from the beach. Dinner at the Old Custom House Restaurant.

Day 4: Avila Beach to Santa Maria

Meet for breakfast at Avila La Fonda Hotel. Ride inland to San Luis Obispo, then through coastal horse country and farms to Santa Maria. Lodging and dinner at the historic Santa Maria Inn.

Day 5: Santa Maria to Santa Ynez Valley

Meet for breakfast at the Santa Maria Inn. Ride through inland valleys and hills to the Santa Ynez Valley and the towns of Los Olivos and Solvang. Lodging and dinner at the Ballard Inn & Restaurant.

Day 6: Santa Ynez Valley

Meet for breakfast at the Ballard Inn. Several options for out and back routes today, or take a day off to explore Los Olivos and Solvang. Dinner on your own. Lodging at the Ballard Inn & Restaurant.

Day 7: Santa Ynez Valley to Paso Robles

Meet for breakfast at the Ballard Inn. Ride back roads to Grover Beach, shuttle from Grover Beach to Paso Robles. Celebration dinner at Artisan Restaurant, lodging at Hotel Cheval.

Day 8: Paso Robles to Carmel Valley

Meet for breakfast at Hotel Cheval. Shuttle from Paso Robles to Greenfield, then ride from Greenfield to Carmel Valley, the conclusion of our tour.
