Just a short drive from the bustling San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey County encompasses some of California’s most stunning scenery while offering world-renowned recreation.
From the dramatic Big Sur coastline to romantic Carmel and Pebble beach to historic Monterey waterfront, to the fertile Salinas Valley and unspoiled wine country of Carmel Valley, the area serves up a delight of scenery from the saddle of a bicycle.
We base our weekend bike tour in the unhurried Carmel Valley, resting beneath the coastal Santa Lucia Range of the Venta Wilderness and Big Sur, while from the other side of the valley rises the oak studded Sierra de Salinas Range. Carmel Valley is close to the attractions of the coast but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to provide an ideal setting for a relaxing getaway. From our base in Carmel Valley, we take daily rides through the region: Carmel Valley, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Carmel-by-the-Sea.
