Undiscovered Country Tours supports bike clubs as a great way to help people enjoy cycling every day. Here are some of the clubs we appreciate for helping to promote cycling:
California Bicycle Clubs
Western Wheelers — San
Francisco Peninsula, California. Hosts a variety of rides in Northern California to suit a variety of
cyclists. Hosts the Sequoia Century in Palo Alto in June.
Almaden Cycle Touring Club — south San Francisco Bay
Area, California. Day rides all year long. Organizes the Tierra Bella Century in Gilroy
in April. Hosts a popular multi-day camping tour called Sierra to the Sea.
Webcor/Alto Velo — bicycle racing club on
the San Francisco Peninsula, California. Hosts the Pescadero Road Race in June.
Velo Girls — popular bicycle club for
women in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. The club “focuses on fun, recreational riding,
with the opportunity to attend cycling skills and general fitness clinics to improve riding and overall
fitness.”
Goleta Valley Cycling Club — a recreational and touring club in Goleta.
New Jersey Bicycle Clubs
Princeton Free Wheelers — a recreational club in Princeton.
New York Bicycle Clubs
Bicycle Long Island — an umbrella group of several bike clubs on Long Island, NY.
Pennsylvania Bicycle Clubs
Lehigh Wheelmen — in the Lehigh
Valley. Regular schedule of road and off-road rides. Also has a racing club. Host the Valley
Veloce, an organized century ride in June.
Washington Bicycle Clubs
Cascade Bicycle Club — large club in Seattle,
Washington, covering the Puget Sound area. Daily local rides. Hosts multi-day motel tours in the state
Organizes the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic event in July.
Seattle Bicycle Touring Club — an informal group of recreational cyclists promoting Rides and Fun
for its members.
National Groups
League of American Bicyclists —
“To promote bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation and work through advocacy and
education for a bicycle-friendly America.”
